Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

Becoming Alpha (Alpha Girl, #1)Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A quick and easy read that I enjoyed more than I expected to. Tessa McCaide has visions when she touches people - which is as annoying and frightening as one might expect, especially as "the weird teenager". When she and her family move across the country, it looks like Tessa's about to get that "weird" reputation again - or at least become an outcast. Until she's kissed by one of the boys from the strange private school in town, and suddenly her life becomes very, very strange.

I liked the feistiness of the heroine - at every turn, she decided to go against the tradition of female werewolves being submissive to males. She really was an alpha in many situations, or at least took on more alpha-like traits. Well, at least as far as everyone but Cute Guy was concerned - there she was very much a simpering teenager, which was a bit annoying and jarring.

Teen romance aside, this was an action-packed book and a fun read that lifted my spirits at a time when I sorely needed it.
