The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston

The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1)The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So good. So much FUN. So much gore, and battle, and fighting as enemies become friends and then family. This reworking and modernising of Nordic mythology (while retaining the old gods) is really just right up my alley. Lots of hot, really fun, sex, too. Add the pit bull, the former Marine and her damn clipboard, pointed little nuggets about how veterans are treated in the US, in-fighting between clans, Hollywood and animals with minds of their own (the Valkyrie stable scene had me laughing out loud) and - most importantly - an author who can write snark like her life depended on it, and you have a winner.

Brodie Hawaii's story really had me choking up - yes, she's a dog, so what? As for the Crows and the Ravens, not to mention the Protectors and the Giant Killers... Oh, so much to enjoy.

Again - give it a miss if you hate bad language. The Crows won't miss you.
