The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Fun. So much fun. It's not epic and deep by any means, in fact, it's pretty shallow - but it's feel-good, and that's what I need right now. The sex gets a bit much, but honestly, when sex is also fun, that's even hotter than standard erotica. Who needs all that oh-so-serious strong hero crap? Not this reader. I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between the shifter families and clans, and of course the lion shifter hero and his don't-give-a-shit heroine, or the lion shifter and his wolf shifter lady love. Plus, dogs! And lots (AND LOTS) of condoms.
I haven't given it 5 stars because these aren't necessarily my favourite books on their own - but there are other Laurenston/Aiken books that get the full treatment from me, just because they actually made me short out loud and gleefully highlight passages (particularly insults).
P.S. If bad language shocks you, you may want to give this author's work a miss. You know, so the rest of us don't have to deal with reviews based solely on the bad language being off-putting.
