This second installment in the Magnificent Devices series is even better than the first. Claire's adventures take her on a rollicking ride in her landau, airships and trains. Still fascinated by engines, electricks and myriad other devices, she's plunged from one situation into another accompanied by her little band of plucky kids whom she's turning into a family. And let's not forget Rosie the hen!
I could hardly put this down and found myself dipping in at every available opportunity. What fun! I will definitely be returning to this world when I need my spirits lifted, for even in the worst of moments, when I was seething with rage on Claire's behalf, I was still enamoured of this strange little flock and was cheering on their behalf.
