Brilliant Devices by Shelley Adina
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Who would have thought that an action-filled young adult tale could delve into politics and racism, too? Sure, it's all fictional, but with just enough of real-world names and places thrown in to give a dash of authenticity. Yes, the action is still what this tale's about, although there's a bit more romance and angst in this latest installment. Still, it's not annoying, and it's really only happening to further the story. I can't wait to read Alice's story later - as I'm sure there will be a continuation of her tale somewhere in the series.
