The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
In a word: meh. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think it was the best book ever written, as the person who gave it to me claimed. I thought it was sweet, but trite and overdone (simplistic language can get a bit much in the wrong hands). Maybe self-help books just aren't for me. Maybe I'm just not the right person to deal with self-improvement and philosophical meanderings. Whatever it is, I just don't find Paulo Coelho's writing endearing or satisfying. Two stars for at least using the language properly.
