My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A good start to one of my favourite series. This might not be my absolute favourite book, but it contains one of my favourite characters, and that's Annwyl. I am ALL ABOUT the bloodthirsty berserker with a love for books. Feargus is pretty cool - dragon and human - but Annwyl's where it's at. Éibhear is the sweetest, Gwenvael is raunchily funny though a touch annoying, and as for Briec - well, he shouldn't have gotten in her way.
What makes this book is the snark. Oh, so much snark! The sex is hot, the battles are fierce, but that snark! I kept getting odd looks on the train because I was grinning like a fool at the sniping and banter. More, please!
