She crossed the road in front of my car, hurrying to beat the traffic light, puffing slightly as she jogged along the crosswalk. Looking over her shoulder to check for errant taxis barrelling down the emergency lane before she stepped out from the shelter of my vehicle, she happened to catch my eye as I absent-mindedly watched her pass. Immediately, her face split into a cheerful grin that had me grinning in response. Then she was gone.
She made my day. I hope she's spreading more of that cheer around and having a good night!
